Maybe I said too many snide comments about Microsoft in its "earshot."

Why? Computer, Why?????

That said, I have a handy-dandy "live" Linux image on a USB stick. Pop it into the computer and you can retrieve your important files off the hard drive and get going again.

Only this time, after I backed up our important "stuff," I can't even boot in after installing a new operating system on said computer.

What to do?

I'm stumped now. Still running off live usb disk and feeling defeated.
